The journey was to you

You choose me for this journey before I was brought into this path of time

I was a kid when I noticed you were in my journey

You revealed your heart to me

I was a teen when I noticed your kind voice leading me into safety

You became my guide and best friend

My lifeline

I asked for a heart like yours in a cold world because yours kept me warm

You gave it to me with no hesitation

Your love was so deep I had to find the treasure that I thought was hidden from me not realizing I already had the treasure which was your heart

It had me in it

You filled every void in my heart so much that I know without a doubt that I would die without you

Your presence is my perfect peace

I never had to question your love because I knew you were the definition of it

The knowledge of your essence saved my life

You gave me your love knowing mine could never be compared to yours

You gave yourself openly to me knowing one day I'd break your heart

You did it happily with the hopes I'd truly see you

You showed your heart to me

You shared my heart breaks at the same time I was breaking yours

You've forgiven me more times I can count

You trusted me when I didn't trust myself

I need to learn to trust you

I let fear chase me away from giving my full love to you

You stayed by my side

I unknowingly fought against you

I fought against the thought of you loving me so much that you could shape an unworthy son like me into the king you designed me to be

In showing me who I am in you I froze

It felt too good to be true that you would think that much of someone like me

Yet you still guide me towards the goal

I can never thank you enough

So I'll thank you for eternity

Every move I make should be a move of gratitude for your life-saving Love

Our bond will forever burn like a fire that comes only from your pure everlasting heart

My journey will forever be an adventure to my soul

I now see the purpose of the journey was my heart to yours
