Vision of Peace-Love in Peace

Updated: Aug 19, 2019

Everyone has their own definition of love but what is true love? Love is something not seen but most searched for. Love can be felt by every living thing so love cannot be denied to be real. So what is real love in the eyes of the beholder? There are many different types of love one can experience but one can say the main three components of love are intimacy, passion, and commitment. An individual can have one of these components and feel love but still feel like something is missing if the other components are not involved. Is one to say to have true love is to have all three components (intimacy, passion, and commitment)?

What is your ideal love? I believe one should be able to identify love to be able to experience the full effect of love. In able to do that I believe love starts with one's self. You can identify with love by having a true love of God within yourself. Knowing how to love yourself will teach you who you are as an individual. Then one must ask themselves what is true love? To answer this question most people fail to realize you can ask love itself.

There is no greater love than love itself to teach about true love. You learn what love is by learning who God is for yourself. As you walk through your journey with him he reveals who he is to you. True love reveals itself to you and in that, you begin to learn true love is unconditional love. True love comes without conditions because of its truth to itself. Once we get a better understanding of God's love we can get a better understanding of love itself and how to apply it in our lives. Don't go out looking for love because you'll never find it. Love is a state of being in our design. We must become the love we are looking for. Give love and you'll receive it. Sometimes not receiving it in the place you gave it. Love can come back in many different forms.

Love begins with the inner self as God works with the inner man he is teaching you to love him within yourself but for him to work with the inner part of yourself you have to fall as much in love with him as he is with you. We were made in the image of God within us to reflect his characteristics. As he reveals who he is to us he reveals who we are to ourselves. We are, to be honest with ourselves as he is always honest with us. God is looking for a perfect heart who is truly searching for a connection with him. I am myself continuing on my journey and not completely there yet but I would say it is worth every step to get to know the one who created all things.

Matthew 5:48

You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Philippians 3:12

Not that I have already reached [the goal] or am already fully mature, but I make every effort to take hold of it because I also have been taken hold of by Christ.

When you come into a relationship with God he shows you how to love yourself. We can be our own worst enemy. We can be hard on ourselves from mistakes we made living in regret. We don't think we have the worth to have a good life because of the decisions we made or from someone telling us we are not worthy. God wants us to realize that through his grace we are worthy of a good life to live more abundantly. God does not hold our mistakes over our heads. When he forgives us he forgets them. Reiterate your story truthfully until you pinpoint the truth that God (love) was always in you circumstance to where you are at now to where you're going. You have to build a close relationship with God to where you know who you are because he showed you who you are. Your thoughts should be good towards yourself. This is where you find your vision of your purpose. Once you see your vision you can walk in your purpose. Don't stop yourself from living your purpose due to the way you think of yourself. You were meant to live life happy and at peace with yourself. You have to know without a doubt that you are enough. As God teaches us to love ourselves he will show you that we are to love others just as he loves us. Jesus said, "We shall love the Lord our God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind". This is the first and great commandment. The second is, we shall love our neighbor as ourselves. On these two commandments hang all the law. (Matthew 22:37-40) God is love so we must love one another.

(1 John 3:11-24)

11 For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; 12 not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother's were righteous. 13 Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. 15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

16 We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?

18 Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. 19 We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him 20 in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things.

21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; 22 and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. 24 The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
