Vision of Faith

Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something. We must have our faith fixed on God's vision. Sometimes we say we have faith in God but don't have complete faith in him because we tend to worry more about our circumstances than what he told us. Our vision should be focused on what he said not what we're going through. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)

In life I learned to have faith in the middle of confusion because no matter what he always had it under control. When we ask God to guide our footsteps we assume it's going to feel good all the time. That's not true. Sometimes you are not going to understand. It may hurt, feel confusing, feel uncomfortable or feel like a plain old mystery but God doesn't do anything without a purpose. I had to learn to have complete faith in him that he'll never let me fall. He'll never leave you nor forsake you. Have faith that he has you covered no matter what you find yourself in. He sits on high and reaches down to meet us where ever we are at. I had to know without a doubt that his thoughts toward me are of peace.

The fall of man came when we thought to have an idea higher than God not realizing that second guessing myself was detouring me away from the image of him. You can't have any doubt of who God is and who he called you to be. The next time you are depressed or have anxiety remember what God said about your situation and what he said about your life. Walk by faith not by sight. Doubt keeps you in fear of what happened and/or what is to come. You go back and forth of between past pain and being unsure of future events. Instead of being still and resting in what God told you.

Deuteronomy 28:66

And your life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shall fear day and night, and shall have no assurance of your life:

Abraham experienced the same doubts we did when he was told to leave everything he thought he needed. Fear can come in when we feel like we don't have the security of the familiar. Abraham went by faith on God's word with confidence. He found that God was able to provide and protect him in every circumstance and obstacle (Genesis 12 ). We must learn to grow in faith. As your faith grows so does the vision God has given you to walk in.

2 Peter 1: 3-15

3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. 5 Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, 6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, 7 and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. 8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins. 10 Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; 11 for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.

12 Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you. 13 I consider it right, as long as I am in this earthly dwelling, to stir you up by way of reminder, 14 knowing that the laying aside of my earthly dwelling is imminent, as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. 15 And I will also be diligent that at any time after my departure you will be able to call these things to mind.

We must identify if we have faith in our own self-confidence or have faith in God that he is our true source. We must trust to give up everything he has supplied to realize that we must put our trust in the one who supplies those things. God is the source of our strength and hope. Trusting God acknowledges God's love in our lives.

With faith must come work. Faith without works is dead. The integrity of our faith is put on trial. The test of our faith shows us who we really are. Faith without work shows an unchanged life. Misunderstanding the relationship between faith and works comes from not understanding what the Bible teaches about salvation. It's the condition of your heart that shows the faith you have in God. Do you believe what God told you?

James 2:14-26

14 What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? 17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.

18 But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works."
